When both the number of appointments and the number of weeks to complete each treatment are shortened through greater efficiency, the cost of Hybridge tooth replacement can be as affordable as possible for each of our patients.
The greatest cost efficiencies occur when the number of teeth being replaced increases. Dental implants are proven to be many times stronger than natural teeth. As such, one implant can often support the load of more than one tooth. Hybridge Treatment Protocols determine and establish the fewest number of dental implants that are required to support the specific number of missing teeth. By minimizing the number of implants, the cost per tooth significantly decreases to the benefit of our patients.
The time between surgical implant placement and final bridge placement is typically shorter on the lower jaw than it is on the upper jaw. This is a result of denser bone in the lower jaw, which allows for faster fusing (osseointegration) of the bone with the implant's outer surface. Lower implant restorations can be completed in less than 10 weeks from surgical implant placement, as compared to at least 16 weeks for an upper bridge.
If the teeth to be replaced need to be removed, their extraction may be able to be done at the same time as the dental implant placement. This "one-stage" protocol can be followed when the teeth to be replaced have a single root and are not infected. Molars have at least two roots and usually require a "two-phase" treatment sequence. The two-phase sequence requires that the remaining roots are removed first and bone filled (grafted). The bone graft is allowed to heal for up to 12 weeks before the implant is surgically inserted in the second phase.Anatomy: Hybridge Treatment Protocols differ between the upper and the lower jaw due to their significant anatomic differences.
Upper Jaw – "Maxilla"
The bone in the area of the upper back teeth is limited by the location of the Maxillary sinus on both sides. Often after tooth loss, there may not be enough remaining bone to place an implant. When additional bone is required, a sinus lift bone graft may be necessary. If this procedure can be performed at the time of the implant surgery, the additional fee is limited to the material costs. The additional waiting time required is usually minimal. If the sinus lift bone graft must be done as a separate surgical procedure, the additional cost of materials to grow the bone is greater, as is the waiting time until the dental implant can be surgically placed (typically 4 months). Lower Jaw – "Mandible"
The back teeth area in the lower jaw sits above what is known as the mandibular nerve. As such, care is taken to avoid placing a dental implant too close to the mandibular nerve. Dental CT scans are used to measure its location. This cutting-edge technology allows for pre-surgical computer planning which minimizes the chance of complication or failure. Treatment Time: 2-6 months
Whether it is the upper or the lower jaw, two dental implants canreplace up to five or six missing teeth. By definition, a "bridge" connects two supports (abutments). With an implant on each side of the area of missing teeth, the Hybridge Multiple Tooth Bridge is cemented or screwed onto the implant abutments, replacing as many teeth as needed.

Multiple Front Teeth
When multiple front teeth are missing, esthetics become an important part of the patient's objectives. One of the initial determinations surrounds the patient's "smile line." The size of the smile and what shows when smiling widely will help the Hybridge provider determine the design of the Hybridge restoration.

In addition to the obvious advantages of having a restored smile, most patients require that their front teeth give them back the ability to eat the foods they want to enjoy.
Form and function:
Front teeth are required to tear food so that it can be chewed on the back teeth. A Hybridge Multiple Tooth Bridge that replaced front teeth must provide both strength and beautiful esthetics. The latest ceramic materials in the industry are utilized at the Hybridge Laboratory. Zirconia and Lithium Di-Silicate are ceramics that have been shown to have very high strength and fracture resistance as well as the ability to replicate the natural beauty of tooth enamel. A temporary Hybridge is always made so that during the process, at no time will there appear to be teeth missing.
Multiple Back Teeth
Restoring function is the chief objective of Multiple Back Teeth. The replacement of missing back teeth can be accomplished with as few as two dental implants. Each implant supports the ends of the "bridge" with a rigid, ceramic, tooth-like structure that is permanently fastened. It is designed to look like the teeth that it is replacing, and for easy daily maintenance and cleansability. The materials for the back teeth are similar to the front Hybridge, with the exception that it can be made less expensively when perfect esthetics are not required due to the location. Treatment time is dependent on the condition of the jaw bone at the start of treatment. A temporary Hybridge can be worn during the process as required by each patient.
